  1. Take off a D2 from ALL pistol damages. They’re much too high. Some energetics for example:
  • An average loading of (1920’s era) .45 Long Colt Produces 710J of energy. In the game this amounts to a max damage of 12 points.
  • An average loading of .44 Magnum produces about 1550 J of energy. In the game, this amounts to 14 max damage.
  • An average loading 30-30 Winchester produces approximately 2400J of energy. In the game, this amounts to a maximum of 13 points of damage.

Are we good? Ok. Good.

  1. Another house rule: Automatics technically aren’t illegal in the 1920’s. I quote the Wikipedia page:

“The National Firearms Act (”NFA"), 73rd Congress, Sess. 2, ch. 757, 48 Stat. 1236, enacted on 26 June 1934, currently codified as amended as 26 U.S.C. ch. 53, is an Act of Congress that, in general, imposes a statutory excise tax on the manufacture and transfer of certain firearms and mandates the registration of those firearms."

  • What this means: Automatic firearms weren’t illegal to own pre-1934, and weren’t illegal to own post-1934. There is simply only a 200 dollar tax stamp the you must pay after 1934. Any weapon that has been owned before 1934 is exempt from the NFA act.
  • What kind of firearms were regulated? I shall quote Wikipedia again.

“Under the original Act, NFA “firearms” were machine guns, short barreled rifles (SBR), short barreled shotguns (SBS), any other weapons (AOW or concealable weapons other than pistol or revolver) and silencers for any type of firearm NFA or non-NFA."

  • However, you mustn’t forget that this is still 1926, and gangsters are out there are on the streets. You will not be above suspicion when you are touting some serious weaponry around. Don’t expect to not get the short end of the nightstick from the coppers.
